Achieve Balance with MYOGA

If you love yoga or have been thinking that you want to give it a try, make sure to stop by MYOGA. This locally owned studio was established in 2010 and is conveniently located downtown and in the south end. We recently sat down with co-owner and studio manager, Rachel Mahaffy, to learn more about the MYOGA experience.

What was the inspiration for opening MYOGA in Sudbury?

We wanted to create a cutting edge place where we could focus on all things yoga as well as a place for people to cultivate a lifelong practice in a dedicated space with contemporary teachings.

What are the health benefits of Yoga?

A lot of people know that yoga is great for flexibility, which is true, but there are lots of other benefits as well. Yoga improves balance and posture, tones, strengthens the core, lowers stress and boosts confidence.

What can someone expect from his or her first visit to MYOGA?

They can expect a friendly, dynamic studio with a diverse staff of over 15 teachers who have a lot to share. We have a spacious facility that can accommodate all levels and we offer mat rentals and yoga retail.

If they’re new to yoga we would definitely recommend the intro to yoga class, which will teach them the language and show them the basic movements they need to get started. If someone comes in who is experienced and is looking for a challenging class then we would recommend the hot yoga and power classes – so it all depends on what people are looking for.

We also have a trial offer that gives you access to the studio for 30 days for $40. It’s a great way to try everything that we offer and see if it’s the right fit for you.

Student Deal

If you’re a student, we offer a four-month special that runs during the fall and winter semester and we also give students 15% off our regular rates.

What makes MYOGA unique?

We’re one of the few places in the city that focuses exclusively on yoga. Our instructors are incredibly qualified, they have several years of experience and I’m confident that they are the best in Sudbury. It’s more than a yoga studio to us, we get to know our clients personally and we’re very involved in the community. For example, every month we host a class called ignite and all the proceeds go directly to a local charity.
