Tell us about Her Business Guide!

Her Business Guide is a business directory exclusive to women.  This guide showcases women within the business community here in Sudbury who have conquered a variety of obstacles, still shot for the stars and aimed for success.  The guide displays and talks about hardworking women in hopes to inspire and encourage other women and future women of business to put forth diligence towards their career.

We understand you were a stay-at-home mom for 21 years, where did the inspiration to create a business guide for women come from?

I wanted to create something where women can come together and support one another. There are so many amazing women in Sudbury doing amazing things, and I wanted to create something that could showcase all of their hard work.

How do you decide whom to feature in your guide?

We look for stories of women who are making a difference. We’ve featured some amazing women so far and all of their stories are inspiring. That is what we want – to highlight these amazing women and their stories. We’re always keeping our eyes open for unique stories, but we also encourage the community to make suggestions on women and businesses who they think deserve some recognition!

What else is featured in the guide?

Every issue we try and incorporate some different things in the magazine. We always want our readers to have something new to look forward to! Every month we include an events page that includes different events within our community, as well as a women’s resources section that changes every month. The content within the magazine tends to relate to the theme of the magazine.

Do you have any big plans for Her Business Guide in 2017?

Her Business Guide is all about women supporting women, so in 2017 we really want to focus on creating a networking group where women can come out and network with each other. We want to create an environment where women can come out and promote their business, but also learn something new that can hopefully benefit them and their business every time.

One fun fact about yourself:

I love celebrating all events and holidays!

Isabelle Roy is an HK student at Laurentian University, fueled by coffee and sarcasm with an absurd love for Ben Howard. If she isn’t found belting out karaoke, you can assume she is drinking good wine with her dog. The only thing she loves more than chili cheese fries from Tucos is Miles Teller.
