The Canadian Cancer Society is looking for volunteers!

April is Daffodil Month and the Canadian Cancer Society has partnered with Loblaw’s chain grocery stores and other businesses to sell daffodil pins and fresh flowers at select locations. The Canadian Cancer Society is looking for individuals who would like to volunteer their time to make this annual campaign a success.

“Volunteering during Daffodil Month is incredibly special as it allows you to help raise funds for cancer research and to support those living with cancer. It also allows you to get out into your community and raise awareness. Many people will stop to chat with us volunteers and share how cancer has touched their lives,” says Dana Crispo, an ovarian cancer surviver. “As a cancer survivor, it’s a great feeling to be able to volunteer my time to help raise funds for this cause, in addition to sharing my own personal experience with cancer, and hearing from others how cancer has affected their lives.”

All the funds raised during Daffodil Month go towards Canadian Cancer Society programs like Wheels of Hope which is a group of volunteers who take patients to and from their cancer treatments.

If you’re a student looking for volunteer hours, a family looking for a way to give back, or simply an individual that wants to help, please visit www.myccsschedule.ca or call Lindsey at 705-670-1234 ext. 3706.
