Cambrian PR students plan an eventful month for Sudbury.

Cambrian’s Public Relations (PR) Program brings fun in all shapes and sizes this March. Every year the second-year PR students at Cambrian College are given a two-semester long assignment to create, plan, and execute an event. The event must occur in the month of March giving the students seven months to bring an event to life. Students are driven to make their events huge successes by both a passing grade and raising funds to donate to a charity of the group’s choice. OPEN STUDIO HAS YOUR ULTIMATE MIXEDTYPE

Cambrian College’s Open Studio is at it again with a new exhibition of student made artwork in partnership with Makers North, this time with a very local flavour! Their latest show entitled Mixedtype is described as an audio and visual collaborative experiment melding the worlds of lyricism and design. In a unique challenge Cambrian College second year students paired with local musicians to turn their lyrics into hand rendered typographic posters! On February 25th, head over to Chelmsford Valley District Composite School (CVDCS) for Rumble in Rayside – a live pro wrestling fundraiser. The school was recently up for an accommodation review but has been saved and they want to raise money to enhance their extra circular activities. Have Fun in the Snow with Sudbury Ultimate’s Snowplate Tournament

On March 4-5, ultimate frisbee players are invited to run, jump and dive on the snowy fields at Terry Fox Sports Complex for the 19th annual Snowplate tournament – hosted by Sudbury Ultimate Club. The tournament was first played on Ramsey Lake in 1998 and was organized by Erin Simmons and Serge Gosselin, two Sudburians who got hooked on Ultimate while attending university in British Columbia. Since then, the annual event has moved around to different locations including Lily Creek and Minnow Lake.
