Welcome to another edition of Crater Conversations, a weekly show live on CKLU now on at a brand spanking new time Tuesday’s at 5PM! So, what exactly is the show all about? Join your host Crater co-founder Jess each week as we sit down with a local guest, we’ll talk about their projects, their passions, and the things they love about our little rock town! We’ll be sitting down with performers, entrepreneurs, community leaders – really anyone with a story. In this edition we’re talking with Jen McKerral, a steadfast supporter and pillar in all things arts related in our city. She’s long held a position with Music and Film in Motion, an organization dedicated to supporting musicians and filmmakers of all sorts access resources to make their projects a reality. In her personal life she’s part of the Up Here team which takes over our downtown core each August transforming it for a wild weekend of discoveries. Her latest foray sees her starting her own out of home studio with partner Matt Wiewell, Deadpan Studios. From managing acts to performing herself in the disbanded Pistol George Warren (RIP) she’s a top source when it comes to the Ontario music scene. With the new year upon us we sat down with Jen to get her recommendations for top 5 Northern Ontario artists to watch out for in 2018.
