Free Yin Yoga Class

Join us in this Free Yin Yoga class that both honours the Full Moon and promotes Mental Health! This class will help you to walk away feeling more grounded, allow you to take a deeper breath, and feel more connected to your Body, Mind and Spirit!

The full moon energy corresponds to the end of an inhalation, when the force of prana is greatest. Take a deep breath in, hold it, and feel the prana (energy) in your body. This is an expansive, upward moving force that makes us feel energetic and emotional, but not well grounded.

Yin Yoga targets the connective tissues, such as the ligaments, bones, and even the joints of the body that normally are not exercised very much in a more active style of asana practice. Yin Yoga is a perfect complement to the dynamic and muscular (yang) styles of yoga that emphasize internal heat, and the lengthening and contracting of our muscles. Yin Yoga generally targets the connective tissues of the hips, pelvis, and lower spine.
Typically the class has 8-10 postures that are held for 3-5 minutes, and supported but blocks, bolsters and blankets. Please bring a yoga mat, water, and wear comfortable clothing.
