Its no secret that we’ve got a big ol’ crush on Sudbury over here at Our Crater! We love showing off all the amazing businesses, exciting events and sharing some of our favourite views. But we gotta say the thing we love the most are the people! Sure every community has a few stand-out characters, but we’re not talking about just any city, we’re talking about our city and we want to tell the stories of the people that make Sudbury great. Travel Tips: 24 Hours in Nice

The French Riviera, more specifically Nice, has made my favorite places in the world list. Unfortunately, my travel buddy and I only had 1 day to spend there (rookie mistake). Here’s what made our séjour so memorable: One hour boat cruise of Villefranche sur mer A yacht tour in Nice is an absolute must. The area boasts an incredible coastline that will wow any tourist. Villefranche Bay, once an active fishing village, still retains its pastel-colored villas nestled in a beautiful mountain range. The Bay contains historic buildings such as the Saint-Elme Citadel, built in the 16th century to protect......

Classic Films For The Halloween Season

There’s something about October that just makes you want to curl up and enjoy some fiction. For a lot of people that means curling up with a long novel they’ve been meaning to get to, or even one they re-read every year. But for we film lovers, it means digging up a few scare flicks. As for yours truly, I like to opt for older gothic and horror films, because they’re the ones I watched growing up this time of year and there’s a sense of nostalgia. Sure, some of them are campy (if not straight up ridiculous), but......

Deb McIntosh was the Executive Director for local trails group Rainbow Routes Association for 11 years before recently becoming City Councillor for Ward 9 of the City of Greater Sudbury. Deb always has some kind of reading material with her in case an opportunity comes up to read while waiting somewhere, but nowadays it is more often something work-related than reading for pleasure. She has been inspired by books many times in her life and usually by a book suggested by someone else. Here are five books, and the story of who suggested them to her, that helped shape......
