New Country, New Life

My name is Angie, and I am from Taiwan. I graduated from Laurentian University and Cambrian College for Public Relations and Communication Studies. I have been in Sudbury for five years, and I love traveling, learning about new cultures and trying different activities. I have been to many places around the world; but I really enjoy my time here in Sudbury. Being an international student and newcomer in Canada is hard. It can be difficult living in a country alone without any similarities to your original lifestyle. There are also a lot of frustrations when living in a different......

COSTUMING TIPS FROM DOLCE TETAS

Feathers, fringe, rhinestones and more…the glamour of a well constructed burlesque costume will wow the audience right out of the gate! As a burlesque performer, I spend countless hours conceptualizing a look and seeing it to fruition. This means hundreds of hours bedazzling while taking in a good Netflix marathon, hot-glueing until I have burned every tip of my fingers, and hand sewing until my hands have completely seized up. And yes, I love every minute of it. I’m most proud of my creations when it accomplishes these things: lends well to my choreography; has visual impact; looks expensive......

Trendsetter Thursday: Back to School Essentials Part II

It’s back to school season, and I’ve tried to round up a few of my favourite school essentials! You can check out part one here! Big-A** Cardigans and Button-Ups I’ve created a fall wardrobe that consists of literally just gigantic wool sweaters and cardigans because a) Ontario is cold AF, even in the early fall, and b) They can be layered over and under just about anything! I found this one at H&M, but you can pick up styles like this just about anywhere. I also added this linen-blend buttonup underneath because not only is it breathable, but it’s......
