“It’s a pretty amazing feeling when people message me or come up to me saying that I am changing their lives and every time they wear the Positive Inception; they feel better and happier. That’s why I do what I do, to make people’s lives better overall.”

Ryan gave us all the details on the Positive Inception, why he decided to start a clothing brand, and his new line of gear called “Be Positive, Be You”!

First off, we love your clothes; they are comfy, stylish, and send forward a fantastic message! We have to know, what inspired you to get into the apparel business and start a clothing line?

I always wanted to start a clothing line, ever since I can remember. I wanted to create something to allow people to be more positive; to help them gain a different perspective on life. I wanted to have a positive impact on the general public. I thought, what better way to do so than with a clothing line.

Having a positive mindset can do wonders to an individual. This is what I want to share with this clothing line. People wear clothing every day, and when people wear the brand or see someone else wearing it, it just gives them a reminder to be/stay positive and be the person that they really are.

Can you tell us where you came up with the name “the Positive Inception” and the idea behind your brand?

Inception has the meaning of starting, or that it explains a new beginning. When starting something or beginning something in life, it is truly important to think positive, have positive thoughts, and positive intentions. When committing to a project or to a certain individual, you have to make sure that you put your heart and soul into it. The positive inception is built on a foundation of love, creativity, dreams, teamwork, perseverance and positivity. With that being said, it is always important to try and bring out the positive in every situation. On a day-to-day basis, some people forget about the simple things in life. People become so corrupt with a daily routine that they sometimes forget who they are. It is extremely important to always be true to yourself and be true to others. To treat people as you would want to be treated. It is also important to sometimes take the risk in what you believe in. If you have a good idea, run with it and persevere with it.

The goal and mission of this clothing line is to remind people about the amazing things in life and help people gain positive perceptions, to help people expose themselves with passion, imagination, and creation. To try and make this world we live in easier for people and more positive. To lead by example, help spread love, compassion and help people persevere with their dreams.

The logo is a seed. A seed is the start, the beginning of something new, a form of new life. You need water and light to let it grow. Human beings are kind of like seeds. You need people around you who love you to help you grow, live experiences and become who you are. The brand is all about helping others and to give a positive perspective; to change people’s perceptions because it can be a beautiful thing. It is said that if you want change to take place, you have to be the change. That’s what the brand is trying to do. Trying to make the world a healthier, happier and better place to live.

The Positive Inception definitely has a strong local following in the community; how does it feel to see so many individuals sporting your brand?

The support the brand has had over the last couple years has been extraordinary. I am very grateful and thankful for the continuous support from my family and friends as well as the general public. Its pretty humbling and cool to see and to have people wearing my creation. I never thought it would get as big as it has, and it’s only the beginning. The unique thing about the brand, I think, is that it can appeal to everyone. Everyone has their own story, and that’s the great thing about life, because if everyone was the same, the world would be pretty boring.

How do you see the Positive Inception growing and changing over the next year?

It’s always good it try and expand, to be innovative, and to try to grow as much as possible. With that being said, I always love introducing new products, and growing the brand in that way. I would like to see myself doing more events and doing more motivational speaking to get the message of the brand out there.

We saw that you have a new line called “Be Positive, Be You”. Where did the idea for this come from?

People get so caught up in what other people think of them. Most people care a lot about other’s opinions and thoughts. For the most part, that should not be the case. Unfortunately, individuals are divided into several stereotypes and are often judged negatively because of it. Stereotypes and people’s opinions of you should not determine who you are or try to change the perception of who you are. I think the coolest thing you can be is you. It is important to try and live your life as the person in which you really are and not change yourself or your personality for anyone. If people don’t like you for who you are, it is truly their loss because everyone is amazing in their own way.

The whole idea of the “be positive, be you’ collection is to remind people to be proud of who they are as an individual and to own their identity. It is a reminder to be the best you that you can possibly be and to shed light on the positive things around you. To appreciate people for who they really are, to accept their strengths, weaknesses and differences. You just have to own you and own the moment because every moment is a blessing.

Do you have a favourite Positive Inception product yourself?

They are all my favourite! I try to create products that I think people will like and enjoy. To be honest, I am a huge hat guy so I really like the hats. When the Positive Inception began, I only had four men’s shirts, and now I have a total of 37 items. It’s pretty amazing to see.
