Trendsetter Thursday: All the Fall Things

Welcome to Our Crater’s Trendsetter Thursday microblog! Here we show you our favourite looks and styles and give you some of our top fashion tips and tricks.

Today’s Look: All the Fall Things

Trend #1: Statement Hat

Hats have officially made a HUGE comeback and I couldn’t be more excited! Brixton is always my go-to brand for hats, but I snagged this one at H&M for under $20. Other fast fashion shops like Zara and Forever 21 will always carry the latest head-wear trends, so, if you’re interested in trying out a new look like this for the first time, definitely hit up stores like these first.

Aside from messenger and sailor caps, felt berets a-la Cher and Dionne (please tell me you’ve seen the 90’s hit Clueless!) are back in a big way. I haven’t been daring enough to try a beret just yet, but it’s on my list!

Trend #2: Bold Neon Knit

Pylon orange… it’s the weirdest colour trend of the season if you ask me. I’m usually not a fan of wearing orange, but for some reason I couldn’t resist trying it out for autumn. I found this knit at H&M, and I was drawn to the bold shape of the sweater sleeves (along with the extra vibrant colour, of course). Chunky knits are great for the colder months, as they are not only functional but easy to dress up with a skirt, layered over a dress, or pair with a classic pair of denim like I did here! These comfy “mom” jeans are from Urban Outfitters; I may or may not own two pairs because they’re just that perfect.

H&M in particular currently has this shade of orange as one of their main fall collection colours, so there are tons of options to choose from when adding to your wardrobe!

Trend #3: Sock Boots

These are my favourite fall and winter trend- they aren’t too bulky and are available in so many jewel tones; perfect for the holidays to pair with fitted pants or a dress/skirt! I opted for black, as I always do, but adding a pair of burgundy or even navy velvet boots to an autumn look can really up an outfit’s game. For this outfit; I cuffed the jeans because the pants ankles are much wider than the sock boot.

P.S. If you want to see a hella intense version of the sock boot, Google the “Balenciaga knife boot”.

Until next time, friends!
