LOL Sudbury Comedy Festival Presents: The Trailer Park Boys – Ricky, Julian and Bubbles are back and they’re “STILL DRUNK, HIGH and UNEMPLOYED!” But not for long if Bubbles has his way! Having answered to the law in the “Community Service Variety Show;” preaching the dangers of substance abuse to avoid jail time, the crew are now on the road without parole officers. Star Wars: Tremors of the Force Film Premiere – A fan film dedicated to the star wars franchise, made locally, will premiere at SRO. $5 Donation suggested. House of David Gang’s Bob Marley Birthday Tribute – House of David returns for this annual Bob Marley Birthday Party. Celebrating the life of Robert Nesta Marley, Feb 6th, 1945, passed in 1981 at the height of his career after developing a rare cancer. House of David celebrates the early ska years through the megahits of Bob’s career. Some they do pretty faithful to the original records and some they really just put their own groove on it. February Hike Club – With mother nature and the weather network changing weather conditions daily, it’s tough to know which route will be ideal for our monthly hike. However, we can guarantee another fun filled hike led by our experienced hike leader Stan. Regardless if we hike the 5 island Ramsey Lake tour or the University Arboretum Trails, we will meet and depart from the Living with Lakes Center off Ramsey Lake Road. Meet us at 9:45 for our regular 10:00am treck. The Story of Us: A Narrative Painting Collective by NISA/Northern Initiative for Social Action – The opening reception will be held on Saturday, February 6th from 1 – 4 pm. Under the guidance of Kim Mullin-Santone, 6 NISA artists met weekly over the course of three months to create a series of narrative mixed-media paintings. Each week focused on a new skill, including transfer and painting techniques, and the use of expressive colour. The goal of the Creative Expression workshop was to help the participants discover the colours, shapes, images, and feelings important to them in creating their narratives. NISA/Northern Initiative for Social Action is an organization assisting individuals in using a variety of outlets to achieve and maintain mental wellness and recovery. 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. @ Artists on Elgin – 168 Elgin Street

The Awful Alphabet Book Launch – Kids Concert beginning at 4 PM featuring musical guests Chris Swayne, Andy Hillis & Josh Turnbull playing a selection of kid and kid friendly tunes. Followed by a selection of readings from the book and some games, snacks and surprises! Door prize will be drawn at 6, and it’s a doozy. Stay tuned for updates on the sweet prize pack we’re putting together! Starting at 8 PM, we will also be hosting an album soft release for Josh Turnbull & Sara Ciantar. They’re a collaborative duo who have played as accompanying artists separately and together. LOL Sudbury Comedy Festival Presents: The Comic Strippers – A fictitious male stripper troupe (played by a cast of some of Canada’s best improvisational comedians), The Comic Strippers always perform a sexylarious improv comedy show. Coeur de Pirate à Sudbury – La Slague is excited to announce that Coeur de pirate will be performing in Sudbury on Sunday, February 7th at 8 PM at Laurentian’s Fraser Auditorium. Music fans have been hoping to finally see Coeur de pirate in concert in Sudbury after an earlier concert date in April 2012 was cancelled due to the expectant mother’s fatigue. They will be amply rewarded for the wait, because since then, Coeur de pirate has risen to even greater heights of international stardom in both French and English. With this return engagement, Sudbury concert-goers will get to see a high profile show that might not have come to the city otherwise. Tickets: $40 – 8:00 p.m. @ Fraser Auditorium
