Shrek the Musical JR: Sudbury Edition – Beauty is in the eye of the ogre in Shrek The Musical JR., based on the Oscar-winning DreamWorks Animation film and fantastic Broadway musical. It’s a “big bright beautiful world” as everyone’s favorite ogre, Shrek, leads a cast of fairytale misfits on an adventure to rescue a princess and find true acceptance. Part romance and part twisted fairy tale, Shrek JR. is an irreverently fun show with a powerful message for the whole family. Sudbury Comedy Scene Hosts Fundraiser – Each year the Sudbury Comedy Scene hosts an evening of laughs at Little Montreal. We are excited to announce that this year they have chosen the Alzheimer Society as the recipient Charity. Tickets: $15 – 8:00 p.m. @ Little Montreal – 182 Elgin Street

Whiskey River Blues Band 30th Birthday Weekend – Join Tommy Fyfe and the Whiskey River Blues Band as they celebrate 30 years of fun loving Blues, Rhythm and Blues and high energy music. The Whiskey River Blues Band has been dedicated to preserving the legacy of the great Blues artists, from Muddy Waters and Sonny Boy Williamson to SRV and Jimmy Reed… from the Yardbirds and Cream to Allmans and Johnny Winter… through several albums of their own… Tommy Fyfe and the Whiskey River Blues Band stands as Sudbury’s longest running blues act… easily going between revivalist and adventurous… the band is all about fun and great music. Sudbury Dragon Boat Festival – The 16th annual Dragon Boat Races in Sudbury were held under sunny skies – paddlers raised $71,000 for the NCF and the Sam Bruno P.E.T. Scan fund. 9:00 a.m. @ Bell Park

STC Stage Sale! – Join us as on the STC stage Saturday, July 16 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. as we undertake the largest inventory purge since our building opened in 1982. You’ll find hundreds of items for sale at rock-bottom prices including: clothing, shoes, belts and ties, jewelry and accessories, furniture, props, housewares, fabric, and one of a kind set and costume pieces All proceeds from the Stage Sale will go towards supporting STC’s 45th Anniversary 16|17 Season. Purchases can be made with cash only. Envolée de papillons Desjardins Live Butterfly Release 2016 – Maison Vale Hospice invites you to the 2016 Desjardins Live Butterfly Release which will be held on Sunday, July 17, 2016 at 3:30 pm at Science North in front of the Rusty Blakey Monument. Come join us for this unique opportunity to celebrate the life of a loved one by releasing a butterfly in their honour or memory. All funds will benefit the programs and services of Maison Vale Hospice. 3:30 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. @ Science North – 100 Ramsey Lake Road
