Harry Potter Trivia Night at Taphouse – In honour of the release of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them at the Science North IMAX, we are bringing you a Potteriffic Trivia Night! You know the deal! 3 rounds of 15 questions, and one bonus question per round. Pages are marked a-la grade 5 math class by passing them to a friend.  7pm until ~9, teams of 2-8, –> Get there early seats fill up and we don’t take reservations!  $5 per person. Winner takes home bragging rights and some awesome prizes are given out throughout the game!  BOARD OF AWESOME: Points scored for being awesome and promoting awesome things! Find a funny answer on someone’s card, even if its not the right answer you can still nominate them for an awesome star. We also reward jokers and pranksters and all those who don’t cheat! River & Skate! Valentine’s Day – Come join River & Sky as we take over Queen’s Athletic Skating Oval for a Love Skate on Valentine’s Day! Celebrate your love of music. Celebrate your love of friendships through your love of skating! We’ll be playing an R&S playlist – big thanks to Long & McQuade, for supplying sound and lighting gear for the event.  River & Sky will be selling hot chocolate and memberships ($25) in the shack. Becoming a member of any not-for-profit organization is a show of support for what the organization does. Student Night at ARC – Alright, lets do this again university and college students of Sudbury. Looking to take a break from the books to socialize, get some exercise, or get out of your room? You’ve wanted to come to the gym but ‘need that money for food’? Well, now you can come on into ARC February 16th for a night of climbing and yoga priced specially for students! $10 (plus tax) gets you entrance to the climbing gym, and any rentals you may need for the night. For $14 you can climb, get your rentals, and take a yoga class! Laurentian SGA Students – Your friendly SGA will be paying for you to attend student night! Northern Lights Writes: Spoken Word – These are monthly spoken word nights hosted by Northern Lights Festival Boréal. Anyone can sign up to read poetry, spoken word, slam, hip-hop, novel excerpts, short stories, play excerpts….you name it. As long as it celebrates the written and spoken word, anything goes! We encourage you to sign up in advance by messaging us on Facebook, but there will also be an open mic component. We also encourage folks to come out to watch and listen! You might be surprised at the diversity and talent and the relaxed atmosphere…This month we are inviting performers to explore the topic of love and romance, but we are by no means limiting them to this topic. Friends and Family Ice Fishing Day at the Lake Laurentian Conservation Area – Join Conservation Sudbury for our fifth annual Friends and Family Ice Fishing Day! The event will be held on Sunday, February 19th, 2017 at the Lake Laurentian Conservation Area Nature Chalet (2309 South Bay Rd.) from 12:00 noon – 4:00 p.m. That weekend is an Ontario Family Fishing weekend, so no fishing licenses are required (more information atontariofamilyfishing.com). Ice fishing activities will include learning proper catch and release techniques and making your own ice fishing rod from a stick. Ice augers, gear and free bait will be available courtesy of our partners, the OFAH Tackleshare program, Ramakko’s and the Sudbury Game and Fish Protective Association. Round out the day with building a snowman or sculpture on the lake, or going for a snowshoe out on the lake or hiking trails – snowshoes and maps will be available for free. Warm up at any time at the Nature Chalet or by our outdoor fire and enjoy complimentary hot beverages. Die Hexe, Ryan MacIntyre live at The Asylum – We are spicing things up at The Asylum by having 2 entirely different musical styles meet on one stage for a night of live music!
