Mark Smith Climbing Clinic – Join us January 30, 2017 as we welcome Mark Smith to ARC Climbing Yoga Fitness! Mark is making his way up to Sudbury to spend the evening running climbing clinics with our climbing community. Mark will be running a 2 hour clinic, from 6:30-8:30pm for anyone interested in learning more about developing their climbing, and learning how to improve their climbing techniques.Bring your gear, and be ready to climb! Mark will also be putting on a slideshow presentation about his climbing career, followed by a Q+A sessions. The Gift of Hope – Photography Exhibit + Jewelry Launch Party The Gift of Hope Photography Exhibit will be showcased at Fromagerie Elgin throughout the month of February. Images of the beautiful children of Zawadi la Tumaini Children’s Home, taken by photographer Ellie Coburn Photography, will be showcased. The images share the journey of the children of Zawadi la Tumaini, the struggles orphan children face, and the obstacles the children have overcome. The evening will also host the official launch of Olive & Annie Jewelry- a ethicially produced artisan crafted jewelry collection made by Kenyan artisans. 30% of proceeds from every sale directly support the children of Zawadi la Tumaini and iniatives to end sexual violence in the slums of Kenya. The event is free of charge and open to the public. Winter Animal Tracking and Guided Snowshoe Hike – Winter is the perfect season to look for signs of animal life in the woods. Join Conservation Sudbury for our sixth annual Winter Animal Tracking and Guided Snowshoe Hike. The event will be held on Sunday, February 5, 2017 at the Nature Chalet (2309 South Bay Rd.) from 12:00 noon – 2:00 p.m. Participants will take a guided snowshoe tour with a nature interpreter and discover a winter forest full of life! Would you recognize the tracks of a snowshoe hare or a red fox? Find out what kind of tracks can be seen at the Conservation Area! All ages welcome; snowshoes will be provided free of charge.
