We’re giving you a glimpse into three people’s collections from Sudbury, Ontario: • Leesa Bringas (Cambrian’s Open Studio technician / Instructor in Design and Visual Arts) featuring a wide range of Betsey Johnson fashion (NYC designer) and ephemera from the 60s through the late 2000s; • Richard Neufeld (Instructor and Coordinator for Cambrian’s Art Foundations & Design and Visual Art programs and Cambrian alumni) featuring handcrafted masks by Bob Basset (Ukrainian Art Studio created by brothers Serhii and Oleg Petrov) + additional items; and • Nadine Olivier, alumna of Cambrian’s Public Relations program (graduate certificate) featuring Lolita fashion, a Japanese street fashion. Each personal collection intersects art, fashion, design and popular culture. Viewers will be treated to a visual display of their collections as well as information about the items, if and when they wear their collected items and overall why they collect. Curator/personal collector lead tours & discussions: Sat Feb 10, 12–1pm: Leesa Bringas will discuss her collection of Betsey Johnson fashion from the 60s through the late 2000s. The Noolands (Barrie Sexy Rock) "They describe themselves as “a Rock & Roll band that writes and records music for our best friends.” That being said, you need to get on their good side. The Noolands have the musicality, lyrical proficiency and fire of a pre-“Gordon” Barenaked Ladies, but edgier. Which only means one thing, you need to catch these guys on the way up so you can say you were a TRUE fan of potentially one of Canada’s biggest rock band prospects since the world was contemplating what we would do if we had a million dollars.. https://www.facebook.com/thenoolands/ www.thenoolands.com The Therapists (Sudbury Psychedelic Party Metal) Formed in 2009 In a Wal-mart parking lot, The Therapists have had quite a few lineup changes. Currently experimenting with a new drummer, these sexy young lads are back at it again bringing you 45 minutes of non stop circus energy layered on top of unexpected technicality, psychedelic lyrics which attempt to cure your human condition and plastic dinosaurs for everyone in the front row. The Therapists have been called many things, but boring is never one of them. theonlytherapists.bandcamp.com Taco Fiesta (Sudbury Psychout freakos) A fiesta of alternative rock, funk and indie brought to you by three horsemen from LU, and one from the city of Sudbury. Bringing friendship, love and catchy riffs back into the heart of downtown. These guys make psychedelia, plain and simple. https://www.facebook.com/tacofiestalove/
