STC Cabaret Series: Ladies of the Rock feat. Samantha Simone
Sudbury Theatre Centre Presents a NEW cabaret series: LADIES OF THE ROCK! This 3-part series will showcase some of Sudbury's giant population of amazing female musicians and artists: come let us give you some insight as to what these rockin' gals are up to! Hosted by the incredibly talented rockin' lady herself, Kelly Perras, these three evenings are sure to get your toes tapping and your minds thinking about what Sudbury has to offer. Our first lady of the rock is the sweet Samantha Simone! Fresh off of a stellar debut performance in Sudbury Burlesque's Monster's Ball 3, Samantha is one multi-faceted artist you don't want to miss the chance to see. FREE SUMMER WORKSHOP FOR GIRLS GR. 7-9! This summer, ambiSHEous™ is coming to Greater Sudbury! Set your daughter up for life. Make sure she has what she needs to achieve her dreams. From financial literacy and business basics to political engagement and leadership development, ambiSHEous™ programming equips girls with the practical skills and real-life knowledge they won't learn in school. Our fun and friendly workshops empower girls to explore interests, express identity, and master the building blocks of independence - all while learning how to start and run their own business or social profit enterprise. Sponsored by Ian MacDonald Medicine, in partnership with the Greater Sudbury Public Library, this two-day workshop will be offered FREE OF CHARGE August 8-9. If you know of a girl entering grade 7-9, encourage her to apply today. The girls will need a reference from an adult, such as a teacher or coach, who can support their application. Successful applicants will be invited to join the workshop on the strength of their submission and notified by June 3, 2017 if they have been selected. Restore and Heal **Sold Out**
This event is a beautiful combination of restorative yoga and energy healing. You will be placed into 5-6 comfortable supportive yoga poses with blankets, blocks and bolsters for 7-10 minutes while two energy healers go around to each person assisting the body back into a more balanced state. Energy healing is done through the hands either directly or indirectly onto the body using universal energy to support the person in need. It provides deep relaxation and relief from any kind of discomforts happening in the mental or physical body. It is a time to gently restore and heal the body back to a more balanced state. Limited space available. We will only be taking 10 participants so that we can give our undivided attention. It will be a small and intimate setting. Cost: $45
