STC Cabaret Series: Ladies of the Rock feat. Samantha Simone
Sudbury Theatre Centre Presents a NEW cabaret series: LADIES OF THE ROCK! This 3-part series will showcase some of Sudbury's giant population of amazing female musicians and artists: come let us give you some insight as to what these rockin' gals are up to! Hosted by the incredibly talented rockin' lady herself, Kelly Perras, these three evenings are sure to get your toes tapping and your minds thinking about what Sudbury has to offer. Our first lady of the rock is the sweet Samantha Simone! Fresh off of a stellar debut performance in Sudbury Burlesque's Monster's Ball 3, Samantha is one multi-faceted artist you don't want to miss the chance to see. Wordstock Sudbury AGM & Poetry Reading with Sarah Pinder
Brunch + Word Lovers + Poetry Reading = One Great Event! __________________________________________________ Saturday, September 9, at 9:30 a.m., at La Fromagerie Entry fee $20 (includes brunch & 1-year membership in Wordstock Sudbury) __________________________________________________ Everyone is invited to Wordstock Sudbury's 1st Annual General Meeting. Over brunch, you'll hear from the Board of Directors of Wordstock Sudbury LIterary Festival, get the details on this year's Festival lineup from Festival Director Heather Campbell, AND be treated to a poetry reading by visiting poet Sarah Pinder. Sarah Pinder is the author of Cutting Room (Coach House Books, 2012) and Common Place (Coach House Books, 2017). Her writing has been shortlisted for the Expozine Small Press Awards, and included in magazines like Geist, Arc and Poetry is Dead. A long-time zine-maker, you can also find her work in Montreal’s Distroboto art vending machines. Originally from Sault Ste Marie, Sarah now lives in Toronto, Canada.

2017 Jazz Walk – Ft. Eric St-Laurent, Laila Biali
JAZZ WALK The Nickel City Dixie Stompers will lead a New Orleans style parade between venues 1pm LU Jazz Combo @ Fromagerie Elgin 2pm Eric St-Laurent Quartet @ Red Fang Tavern 3pm Laila Biali @ STC Cabaret The Jazz Walk is back !! Get up close and personal and interact with some of these year's headlining acts in some of Sudbury's favorite landmark downtown venues as local dixieland band NCDS leads you on a musical parade through the street of Sudbury's downtown core. Catch the ever-evolving musical prowess of Sudbury's rising stars as school is in and the LU Jazz Combo kicks things off at Sudbury's favorite cheesery and cafe. Parade your way into some Afro-Cuban Rythms and some bluesy influences as Eric St-Laurent and his bandmates treat you to infectious grooves, plenty of interaction and a musical adventure. Finally, dixie stomp your way down the road to the Sudbury Theatre Centre Cabaret as Award-Winning Vocalist and Pianist Laila Biali takes to the baby grand piano to provide us with an elegant fusion of pop and jazz vocals. This veritable musical buffet will feel like an appetizer and you can bet you'll be joining us for the evening concerts at the Grace Hartman Amphitheatre.
