Starting a business and putting your ideas into action is never an easy task. Many factors contribute to the success of your business including access to the right mentors, customers, and very often, start-up capital. With that, the NORCAT Innovation Mill is pleased to announce the launch of PITCH 2018! On Thursday, April 26th, 2018 early stage entrepreneurial start-ups are invited to pitch their innovative business venture to a room full of prospective investors looking for their next great investment opportunity. The evening will feature presentations, angel investors, and judges. Finalists will have the chance to compete for the Judge’s Choice Award – an unrestricted cash prize – as well as the People’s Choice Award, a private dinner with a group of angel investors, to be voted for by audience members.

Cooking Class: Tequila Tasting
A good tequila is NOT supposed to be shot back with a squeeze of lemon! The Mexicans shudder at the thought and want us to learn to appreciate and savour every drop. Join Stephanie as she goes through samples of 5 tequilas to highlight their similarities and differences. Includes paired hors d'oeuvres and recipes to take home. Growing up in La Crete, Alberta — more than 2,500 miles from where they now live in Music City — Brad and Curtis were completely cut off from the world of pop culture throughout their early lives. “It’s not that we weren’t allowed to have a radio,” lead singer and songwriter Brad, explains. “We had radios, but you turned them on and heard a lot of static from an AM station 300 miles away. When it was cold enough you could hear the farm report, the price of grain and the occasional old school country song.
