CRATER CONVERSATIONS EP33: TAMMY FRICK

Welcome to another edition of Crater Conversations, a weekly show live on CKLU now on at a brand spanking new time Tuesday’s at 5PM! So, what exactly is the show all about? Join your host, Crater co-founder Jess, each week as we sit down with a local guest. We’ll talk about their projects, their passions, and the things they love about our little rock town! We’ll be sitting down with performers, entrepreneurs, community leaders – anyone with a story. Personal anecdotes, first inspirations, childhood follies, who knows where this will take us but we can’t wait to find out! Can’t catch the show on air? No worries, all our episodes will be posted online afterwards for easy listening. If you’re inclined to tune in live turn your radio dial to CKLU 96.7 or stream live at https://www.cklu.ca/ 5PM every Tuesday.

Each year Cinefest Sudbury International Film Festival lights up the silver screen with an impressively curated offering of films spanning all genres. This year they are celebrating their 30th anniversary and have a stellar program awaiting Sudbury audiences! They’ve got everything you can think of from their Indie-Can series, Gen YZ, World Film, First Cuts and of course the galas presentations! With over 100 films to choose from there’s a film (or 10) for everyone to enjoy. Tammy Frick is the Executive Director of Cinefest and has been with the festival since the early days. She’s watched and taken part in the festivals growth from a teeny-tiny weekend event at the (then) City Centre, to a full fledged week and a half festival on par with the likes of TIFF. We were lucky enough to catch Tammy in rare moment of calm with the festival quickly approaching to get the skinny on this years festival, the backstory behind the festival image this year, how to make the best of your festival experience and (slightly off topic) shoes. Check out this weeks episode here and listen to our Spotify playlist here.

Some have said that the Big Dripper from Sub City is a regional delicacy and the perfect end to a Sudbury Saturday Night – Jessica is definitely one of those people. No, the hair is not a perm.
