It’s Still Funny in 2018

Headliner: Mark DeBonis
Mark DeBonis is definitely a comic to watch.

Since taking the plunge into standup back in 2008, Mark has performed multiple times at Just For Laughs, won the Great Canadian Laugh Off (including it’s $25,000 grand prize), a Canadian Comedy Award for “Best Newcomer”, and was a finalist for the Tim Sims Award and on XM Radio’s Canada’s Next Top Comic.

He has performed across North America in comedy clubs and festivals, including appearances at the Just For Laughs Festival in Montreal, at the Brantford Comedy Festival and the Kitchener-Waterloo Comedy Festival. In addition to his live performances, Mark has also released two full length comedy albums, God Among Super Gods, and Mind Pockets, both available on iTunes.

Mark made his acting debut in the award-winning movie “Picture Day” alongside Tatiana Maslany (Orphan Black), (a role which landed him on the red carpet at the prestigious Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF)). Since then, Mark’s appeared on Much Music’s Much On Demand, BiteTV’s Stand Up & Bite Me, The Comedy Network and Sun TV. You can now catch Mark on CBC’s “Accent on Toronto”, CBC’s “The Debaters”, and in his Comedy Special filmed for I-Channels “No Kidding”.

Midcard: Rachelle Lauzon
Rachelle Lauzon is a Toronto-based actor/comedian who is quickly making a name for herself amongst audiences and the community alike with her nightly performances across the GTA and Canada.

Rachelle has completed a Theatre and Performance degree from The Marilyn Walker School of Fine and Performing Arts at Brock University, then went on to study improvisational comedy with the Second City Training center. Upon graduating the Long-Form Conservatory, Rachelle joined the improv team Lester B. Fearsome where she performs weekly. Select theatre credits include: FLEEK SHOW (Second City TC), Fragmentos (Brock University), Twelfth Night (Brock University), Super (London Fringe Festival), The Blue Room (Brock University) and Legally Blonde the Musical (Simply Theatre) .

Rachelle’s film credits include: The Girl of my Dreams (WhiteRock Productions), among others.

Rachelle currently produces and hosts her own monthly show, Nasty Cat , at the Corner Comedy Club.
Rachelle’s cynical and often subversive rhetoric on the society around her aims to bridge the gap between what men and women find funny. In addition, Rachelle proudly identifies as an intersectional feminist and allows this to shape and inspire the work she creates.
