How to Have a Stress-Free Pregnancy and Birth

September 30, 2017 @ 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm

Join us from 1-3 on Saturday Septemeber 30th and learn ‘How to Have a Stress-Free Pregnancy and Birth’.

This awesome Pregnancy Workshop was created to support pregnant women and expectant couples in experiencing confident, powerful and calm births in a hospital setting or at home. To begin to experience a confident, less anxious birth, one must begin to shift any old perceptions and beliefs that are held about pregnancy and birth.

With 5 great speakers from the Sudbury area discussing a range of topics such as, chiropractic care during pregnancy, breastfeeding, and maternal mental health you’ll be sure to leave with great information to help empower you during your pregnancy.

Our speakers include:

Dr. Janna-Marie Doni, Chiropractor/ Owner of Vita Chiropractic and Wellness

Dr. Janna-Marie Doni obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree at Laurentian University and completed four years at the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College in Toronto, graduating as a Doctor of Chiropractic. She opened Vita Chiropractic and Wellness Centre in January of 2012 and has since been treating patients of all ages. She particularly enjoys treating families and young children and has taken specialized courses in dealing with prenatal care, pregnancy, and children.

Megan, Certified Birth and Postpartum Doula/ Owner of The Blissful Doula

Meg is a certified birth and postpartum doula, Honours Psychology graduate, wife and mom to her sons Gibson and Miller. She is passionate about making pregnancy, birth and the early days of parenting as stress-free as possible. She specializes in maternal mental health, pregnancy after loss and prenatal education. You can find out more about Meg and check out The Blissful Blog at theblissfuldoula.com or follow her on Facebook: The Blissful Doula Sudbury.

Stephanie Langille, Certified Lactation Consultant/ Owner of Breast Works

Stephanie is an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant, and mother of two amazing children. She works in a private practice in Sudbury, where she offers both at home and in office visits for clients. She believes that when it comes to infant feeding, families are more likely to make decisions and goals that better suit their needs and lifestyles, when they are well informed, and are encouraged to express their opinions freely; this is the type of environment that Stephanie aims to provide for all her clients. Stephanie has a great passion for helping others, and a deep thirst for knowledge – which she feeds with reading the latest research, and attending conferences near and far.

After the birth of her first child, Stephanie was inspired to broaden her knowledge of breastfeeding. This led to her involvement in the ABC program (A Breastfeeding Companion) at the Sudbury & District Health Unit. Stephanie then became the liaison for the volunteers at the Health Unit, and the peer support person for their face-to-face breastfeeding support group. It was through these experiences that she discovered her path, and decided to become an IBCLC.

Dr. Kallie Doucette, N.D, Naturopathic Doctor

Dr. Kallie Doucette is a licensed Naturopathic Doctor who believes that health care should be empowering and customized to meet your needs. Health care often focuses on treating symptoms, but Dr. Doucette focuses on identifying the underlying root causes of disease. Dr. Doucette enjoys working with all patients, but has a special interest in treating women’s hormonal conditions and children’s health. She received extra training in children’s health during her internship at the Robert Schad Naturopathic Clinic.

Celeste Bouffard, Pelvic Health Physiotherapist

Celeste Bouffard graduated from the University of Ottawa’s Physiotherapy program in 2003. She then returned to Sudbury to practice in private clinics working mainly in orthopedics. She took several manual therapy, acupuncture and dry needling courses to improve her clinical treatment skills. She also worked in Hand and Upper Limb rehabilitation and the WSIB Upper Extremity Clinic at Health Sciences North.
In 2011 after having 2 c-sections, and having some difficulty with recovery, she did some searching to find ways to help her resolve her issues. This is when she discovered pelvic health physiotherapy. After taking that first course, she was hooked and discovered her passion. Since January 2014 she has dedicated her whole practice and life’s work to pelvic health. She is passionate about brining awareness to her community about these issues and the help available for this population. She has a deep thirst for knowledge and continues to enroll in continuing education relating to pelvic health and the treatment of persistent pain using a biopsychosocial approach.
She recently partnered up with Lexi Dewar, kinesiologist to develop Core Vitality – a post partum program for moms to get back into fitness safely and with confidence. Its all about empowering new moms and giving them the support they need, in education and confidence.
