STC Cabaret Series: Ladies of the Rock feat. Samantha Simone
Sudbury Theatre Centre Presents a NEW cabaret series: LADIES OF THE ROCK! This 3-part series will showcase some of Sudbury's giant population of amazing female musicians and artists: come let us give you some insight as to what these rockin' gals are up to! Hosted by the incredibly talented rockin' lady herself, Kelly Perras, these three evenings are sure to get your toes tapping and your minds thinking about what Sudbury has to offer. Our first lady of the rock is the sweet Samantha Simone! Fresh off of a stellar debut performance in Sudbury Burlesque's Monster's Ball 3, Samantha is one multi-faceted artist you don't want to miss the chance to see. Starting a Creative Business
This one-day workshop provides the basic tools of creating, developing and putting together a solid creative business idea while beginning the process of constructing the accompanying business plan. Through interactive, reflective, left-brain and right-brain activities the participants get to step into the business mind frame and leave with the structure of their business more clearly defined. Takeaways: Step into the business mind frame. Build a bridge from creative professional to creative business. Clarify your business idea and direction and create the base of your business plan. Get to know your local business and creative sector supports and community. “Starting a Creative Business” is an initiative of WorkInCulture to support creative professionals of diverse artistic disciplines who are thinking about building a creative enterprise. WorkInCulture's presenting partner for this iteration of "Starting a Creative Business" is Cambrian College's The Open Studio. Cambrian College's Open Studio is a multi-disciplinary creative space dedicated to presenting innovative exhibitions and events, many of which focus on social issues and progressive ideas. On October 6th, the Northern Cancer Foundation (NCF) is proud to partner with Natura Catering & Events to host “Fork & Barrel”. Destined to be the “event of the season”, this upscale event will surely have everyone Stomping Cancer! The crisp fall evening will be filled with charm and delectable tastes! Join our farmers and wine makers on October 6th as Head Chef Francesco Corcontento will prepare delicious meal featuring local farms fresh organic vegetables and locally produced organic meat, cheese, and wine. You may even have a chance to stomp some grapes the old fashion way. All proceeds raised from the Fork & Barrel will support the Northern Cancer Foundation. More importantly, every dollar received by the Foundation will stay in our community to support vital patient care, new equipment purchases and world-class cancer research in our own backyard.
