GETTING INTO THE HALLOWEEN SPIRIT IN SUDBURY

Sudburians, there is one week left to get into the spooky spirit! Things might be a little different this year, but this old crater of ours is always innovating and coming up with new ways to celebrate safely. Take the drive out to Capreol to check out either of their two interactive haunted experiences. Wander the grounds of Dynamic Earth taking in thousands of pumpkin carvings and a snack or two. Or creep yourself out with a Spookfest movie marathon. If you love the creepy-crawly Halloween season these are a few events you’re not going to want to miss!

Inferno 6077: Born Out of Fire

The Northern Ontario Railroad Museum and Heritage Centre in Capreol have become host to one of the spookiest haunts of the season over the last several years with their annual Terror Train. This year the Terror Train team has reimagined their haunted tour into a socially distanced model – Inferno 6077: Born Out of Fire. Stay strapped into your vehicle as all the creepy action happens around you in an interactive theatrical production created by local writers, Mat Del Papa and Lisa Coleman-Brown. If a daytime activity is more your speed join Live History for a Downtown Haunted Walk and learn more about Capreol’s fire history. Work with your group and the actors to complete tasks and solve a mystery. Get your tickets to Inferno 6077 here, only a few dates left October 23th -25th & 30th to catch this spooky attraction. Pumpkinferno at Dynamic Earth

This one is family-friendly and even a great time for adults. Dynamic Earth’s Pumpkinferno is always a spectacle to look forward to! Imagine FIVE THOUSAND intricately carved pumpkins creating scenes and lighting up the Dynamic Earth grounds. While you’re exploring the outdoor trails keep an eye out for scavenger hunt items and check out their new parade of inflatables. It wouldn’t be a trip to Dynamic Earth without learning a little something so make sure to check out the Fire Magic Science Show. Take a break and listen to some fire-side spooky stories and grab and warm beverage from their outdoor cafe full of Halloween treats. The Big Nickel is getting dressed up too with a spooky projected Halloween show. COVID-19 protocols are in effect so be sure to head to dynamicearth.ca/halloween for all the protocols and to book your slot on the trail.

Horizon Drive-In’s Spookfest

Three great Halloween classics, back to back! Join Horizon Drive-In for their first Spookfest, enjoy the movies the old fashioned way from the comfort of your own vehicle. Settle in for The Nightmare Before Christmas, Ghostbusters, and Friday the 13th, you can make it a marathon or individual tickets are available. If you’ve never attended a drive-in movie it’s a fun way to catch a flick outside with your bubble. Make sure you dress warm for this one it’s gonna be chilly!
