HERE'S WHAT'S UP AT GRAPHIC-CON THIS WEEKEND!

Graphic-con is upon us again and with it comes all the weird and wonderful parts of fandom! You can get in on the action June 8th from 10 AM – 6 PM at the Sudbury Arena. Get dressed up in your best cosplay or character inspired outfit and head down for a veritable buffet of graphic content to consume! They’ve got everything you expect to find at a con, merch, collectibles, family-friendly activities, and even special guests. What makes Graphic-con most unique is its the only one of its kind in Northern Ontario AND for the bargain price of $10 at the door. Marketplace Upcycled kids craft

Sudbury Market (Via Rail Elgin St), 10AM -2PM

In a collaboration with Sudbury Market and ReThink Green, bring your kiddo to make their very own magnet! They will be set up teaching how to make upcycled gem magnets with recycled comic books to take home.

KIDS! Paint Social – Fave Fantasy Character

Need a small break between panels at Graphic-Con 2019? Bring your child to DIY Craftery and Lounge to unleash their inner artist! DIY Craftery & Lounge is having a kids paint social! Limited spots available! Choose one of our pre-cut vinyl super hero’s to create your very own silhouette painting on a 12×12 canvas. All items needed for your masterpiece are supplied in class.

Are your glasses at home looking a little plain?
Sudbury Graphic-Con and DIY Craftery & Lounge have joined forces to end the battle of the plain glass! Come out and express your hidden painting talent. Space is limited with only 20 spots available.

Graphic-Con Space Fan Jam After Party!

Spacecraft Brewery (854 Notre Dame Ave), 8PM-12AM

Cons are lots of fun (and hard work). Relax and come celebrate with us after the event at Spacecraft Brewery! Cosplay is encouraged but your normal dress is perfectly acceptable as well. Live music, food, and cold beverages… What else could you ask for on a post-con Saturday night?

Merch

Vendors are definitely one of the highlights of any con! It’s a great time to stock up on all your fav character gear and check out rarities you’re missing from your collection. The Cats Grafix will be on hand with a massive collection of comics, Relics from Cybertron will have the widest selection of Transformers toys you’ve ever seen, and Pixie Mama designs will deck you out with handmade gear from your favourite characters. That’s just a highlight, there will also be several artists on site with graphic inspired pieces and more graphic merch than you can shake a stick at!

Special Guests

Graphic-con has some surprise appearances planned! You’ll have the opportunity to meet and maybe even chat with some of your favourite nerdy influencers. Kevin Montipellier & Martin Deschatelets (Expired Comics), Dave & Steve from Eastlink’s Talk Nerdy, Jason Deline (actor/voice talent), Jason Rainville (Wizards of the Coast) have all been confirmed as guests. And what would a con be without cosplay? Get out your best duds and join the likes of Gabba Huttz, Ssstrawberrymilkkk, and Medikal Cosplay who will be showing off their best costumes! Chat with other cosplay fans and trade tips and tricks for your next outfit.
