VOICES OF THE ROCK SHOWCASES NEXT GENERATION OF SONGWRITERS

For the past three seasons, the Sudbury Theatre Centre has featured the Voices of the Rock series. An evening of intimate storytelling and performance hosted by the STC’s own Kelly Perras. Their first series highlighted some of the powerhouse women of Sudbury, last years featured iconic veterans of the music scene. This year, the selection of artists showcases the next generation of songwriters, starting with Brooke Bruce (November 23rd), Eric Clancy (February 8th), and Emma McDaniel (May 20th).

Brooke Bruce – November 23rd, 2019 @ 7:30PM

Brooke Bruce’s electric stylings are at the junction of pain and perception. Let the contrast of crisp vocals and moody progressions carry you on an atmospheric journey. Their newest single, Smoke, landed in the top 100 of CBC’s Searchlight 2019.

Eric Clancy – February 8th, 2020 @ 7:30PM

Eric Clancy is a storyteller. Entering the Sudbury music scene at the age of 17, he was awarded a slot at the 2011 Northern Lights Festival Boréal through the Meltdown. With refined songwriting and a gentle yet powerful voice, Eric is a staple in the Sudbury music scene.

Emma McDaniel – May 20th, 2020 @ 7:30PM

Emma McDaniel is a 21-year-old singer/songwriter from Sudbury, Ontario. Over the past several years, Emma has been performing throughout the city, (Fromagerie, Red Fang, Townhouse, NLFB) and more recently, recorded her very own EP in North Bay.

Jessica Lovelace is a Public Relations and Communications grad, musical theatre enthusiast, lover of live music and part-time unicorn tamer. Some have said that the Big Dripper from Sub City is a regional delicacy and the perfect end to a Sudbury Saturday Night – Jessica is definitely one of those people. No, the hair is not a perm.
