Tell us a bit about what you do?

My business is real estate, I am a sales representative for the largest brokerage in Northern Ontario.  I work to make people’s dreams come true as cliché as that sounds, I find people places to call ‘home’ or places for people to make extra income.  I like to find out what each client’s individual wants and needs are and bring them together. I try to find that perfect balance in what they need going forward, whether it be for 2 years or a lifetime.  I guess you could say I’m a matchmaker, for property.

What is your favourite part about being a Real Estate Agent?

My favourite part of being a real estate agent?  I love to see the faces on people when they get their keys.  There are not many things out there that you can buy that can match a home, camp or income property and I don’t mean the price tags, I simply mean the magnitude of the purchase.  It involves it all, where you sleep, eat, live, make memories, make families, even make money.  There’s nothing better than to see someone achieve their goal or attain their dreams, it’s truly a great feeling to see your friends, family and clients move forward in life in a positive way.

How would you describe Sudbury’s Real Estate market?

Sudbury’s real estate market is an interesting one, there are not too many places south of Sudbury where you can buy a property for the price tags we see here.  I would describe it as a buyers market for sure.  The market is not RED HOT for sellers like we are seeing in southern cities such as Waterloo, Kitchener, Barrie and other markets as they are seeing multiple offers on one property within days of being listed but as I always say, a good product will sell, it may take a bit more time here in the North but good things take time.  For investors and first time buyers, Sudbury is a very good market to be in and the best time to buy is now.

Do you have any tips for our readers who are looking to buy a home in the new year?

Tips for home buyers?  One tip is for buyers to get their ducks in a row prior to any sort of viewing, or things like that.  Also, do not wait to get approvals from banks, with the mortgage rules and interest rates changing all the time, you don’t want to be stuck on the outside looking in.   You don’t want to fall in love with a home then go through the ringer only to be declined financing.   Lastly, have fun while you’re doing it!  Seeing homes and different styles or layouts is fun, enjoy your time doing it and make it a memory.  Our career is making the transaction and purchase as smooth as possible, let the professionals deal with the heavy lifting of research and paperwork and enjoy the ride!  Happy house hunting!

Favourite holiday song?

I don’t really have a favourite holiday song but I do love the old school Home Alone movies.I try to watch them on Christmas every year.

Favourite thing about celebrating the holidays in Sudbury?

Has to be the food! My family and friends are great too but the food is always on point! I look forward to a good food coma on Christmas day… that and seeing my nieces and nephews faces when they see all their gifts wrapped up and ready to tear open.
