Eat Local: Our contributors favourite local restaurants

Delicious homemade pastas, mouthwatering panini’s and vegan food that even a non-vegan can enjoy – We’ve rounded up our contributors favourite local restaurants! Not sure what to order? Don’t worry – we’ve also included some suggested menu items (and they are all delicious). We want to encourage everyone to eat local this year and support all of our amazing local spots. Sudbury is growing and we’re really excited to see what other local spots open up in 2017. What’s your favourite local spot for a delicious meal?

Bella Vita

You can never go wrong with their Penne Alla Vodka, Seafood Linguini, Calamari, Calabrese Pizza, or Tiramisu. Basically, the entire menu! – Adriana Nicolucci

Vespa Street Kitchen

Eggplant parmigiana on a ciabatta bun! Fast food that doesn’t taste like fast food! – Amanda Battistuzzi

The Laughing Buddha

The Eff El Cuke sandwich is so fresh and delicious! Ask for the bread to be toasted! I love this light sandwich! They also have so many yummy beers to go with the awesome food. My fave right now is the Winter Ale! – Brittany Philpott

I absolutely love the Laughing Buddha, no better place in town to grab a healthy snack and catch up with friends! Chicken Nova Sandwich, don’t forget that chick pea salad. – Anthony Crozzoli

Tucos Tacos

It’s a vegan restaurant that non vegans also can enjoy! I recommend the nachos to everyone, even the pickiest non veggie people love them!  Cassie Tario

P&M Kouzzina

I am a regular at P&M and I have never once been disappointed. Not only is everything on the menu delicious, but the service is always top notch. My absolute favourite meal is the tomato risotto and you need to add a side Caesar salad – you will smell like garlic for days but I promise it will be worth it. – Emily Franceschini

Respect is Burning

My wife and I have been going for over 9 years. Never been disappointed once!  Our favourites are the deep woods bruschetta, any pizza, or the pasta – Jeff Koncz

The Townehouse Tavern

Their beet & hemp sliders and fry dip are to die for! It might not sound appealing but once you try it you’ll be back for more! And since you’re in the neighbourhood head next door to the Laughing Buddha and enjoy a delicious Brie Bomb or Artichoke & Asiago dip – both make for the perfect appetizer or snack! – Jessica Lovelace

Peppi Panini

I’m a sucker for a good sandwich and Peppi’s certainly boasts the best in town! Try their Turkey Lou panini for a truly unique and delectable treat. Their roasted red pepper soup is perfect for pairing (and dipping) when you want to make it a whole meal! – Justine Martin

The Doghouse

If you haven’t tried their atomic lemon pepper wings, you don’t know what you’re missing! It’s an unusual pairing, but somehow the heat and the lemon zest work wonders together to create this magical meal. Just be sure to have a cold drink and an insane amount of napkins at the ready! – Mackenzie Dempster
