August has arrived and with the final month of summer come a lot of really great events! Today we are sharing 10 events you NEED to check out in Sudbury this month.


Burger Wars in Support of NEO Kids – August 1-31 @ Various Sudbury restaurants

During the month of August, visit participating restaurants and try the featrured burgers then vote for the title of ‘Best Burger’ in town, while raising funds for NEO Kids Foundation.

Tickets: Cost of the burger varies at each restaurant


Messy Minds Book Launch Party – August 8 5:30-7: 30 pm @ La Fromagerie

Messy Minds is a book combining art, photos and photography to express deep emotions, hopes, desires and dreams. There will be cheese platters, live music & 100 copies that you can purchase in celebration of your favourite local artists & loved ones’ published work.

Elgin Street Craft Beer Festival – August 9-11 @ The Townehouse Tavern

The 7th annual Craft Beer Festival will feature vendors from across the province. The music throughout the weekend will celebrate the 50th Anniversary of Woodstock.

Tickets: $35 for the weekend | $25 for Saturday only | $15 for Friday only



Vale presents: NHL vs Docs for NEO Kids
– August 11 2-4pm @ Sudbury Community Arena

NHL players will be teaming up with local physicians in a battle over the puck, all in support of NEO Kids Foundation. There will be a BBQ at 11:30 am and an autograph session before the game.

Sudbury Camino 2019 – August 10 8am-6pm @ Kinsmen Sports Complex

Discover Greater Sudbury’s portion of The Great Trail (Trans Canada Trail) and the Great Lakes Waterfront Trail at the Sudbury Camino challenge. This is a 30 km journey beginning at Kinsmen Sports Complex and ending at Moonlight Beach. However there are varying starting points if you do not wish to complete the full 30km.

Parasols in the Park – August 11 2-4pm @ Bell Park

Hosted by The Cedar Nest, “Parasols in the Park” is a Grande High Tea event taking place at the William Bell Gazebo. There will be croquet on the grass, lavish food and drink, with a dress code in effect.

YES THEATRE: James and the Giant Peach – August 15-25 @ Sudbury Theatre Centre

The latest production by YES Theatre, James and the Giant Peach is a tale of a boy, his insect friends and their journey across the ocean on a giant piece of fruit!

Up Here 5 – August 16-18 @ Various venues around Sudbury

Our favourite urban art and music festival is back for their 5th year this month. Over the course of the festival weekend, you’ll be able to check out all sorts of musical acts at venues all across downtown as well as immersive and interactive art installations.

Sudbury Poutine Fest 2019 – August 23 – 25 @ Bell Park

Spend the weekend enjoying Canadians favorite food – poutine! There will be a variety of vendors, a kids zone, arts & crafts, beer gardens, face painting and live music.

Tickets: $3 daily or $5 per pair | Free for kids under 12


Sudbury’s Early Harvest Holistic Healing Fair – August 25 10am-4pm @ Caruso Club

This semi annual event will nourish your body, mind and soul. There will be 60+ unique Holistic and Wellness vendors and the first 50 attendees will recieve a swag bag.
