AUGUST EVENTS: CHECK THESE EVENTS OFF YOUR SUMMER BUCKET LIST THIS MONTH

From cultural and music festivals, to outdoor movies, and some of our favorite recreational activities, there’s no shortage of fun to be had during the month of August.  We’ve rounded up something to do every day for the month of August so you can spend less time planning, and more time at the events that you won’t want to miss.

August 1st – Attend the opening night of Merrily We Roll Along presented by YES Theater

August 2nd – Pack a picnic and head downtown for the Downtown Movie Night presentation of Willy Wonka

August 3rd – Enjoy a treat while trying out a new board game at the new Café One on Lasalle

August 4th – Visit the farmer, artisan and craft vendor booths at the Sudbury Market on Elgin

August 5th – Take a day trip to Manitoulin Island for the 51st Annual Haweater Weekend

August 6th – Race a go-kart, test out your skills in the batting cage, or play the mini-golf course at Sudbury Kartways

August 7th – Let your creative juices flow at the Paint Social Night at the Taphouse

August 8th – Take a cruise on Lake Ramsey aboard the William Ramsey (formerly the Cortina)

August 9th – Need a good excuse for a frozen treat?  Visit Dairy Queen to participate in Miracle Treat Day benefiting the Children’s Miracle Network

August 10th – Attend the Double Take Marathon, featuring Jaws and the Shallows, at the Downtown Movie Lounge

August 11th – Try out some local beers at the 6th Annual Elgin Street Craft Beer Festival

August 12th – Learn more about zero waste living and upcycling at the first annual Waste-Less Fair

August 13th – Pick your own strawberries at Ruby Berry Farm in Chelmsford

August 14th – Interested in trying out rock climbing but you don’t know where to start?  Drop by the No Partner? No Problem! Nights at ARC Climbing + Yoga

August 15th – La Fromagerie & Muskoka Brewing are teaming up for a Beer and Cheese Pairing party

August 16th – Enjoy a night on the patio at Verdicchio’s at the Italian Whites and Raw Bites Patio Party

August 17th – Play 9 holes under the night sky at the CNIB Golf in the Dark event at the Monte Vista golf club

August 18th – Bring on the mud, sweat and cheers at the Mudmoiselle 5km Obstacle Course

August 24th – Eat your way through the 2nd annual Sudbury Poutine Fest at Bell Park

August 25th – Learn about the beer brewed and beef raised in the north at the Beef Stack: Farm-to-Table Harvest Dinner

August 26th – Support the Northern Cancer Foundation at the Stand Up to Cancer SUP Race

August 27th – Test your fear of heights with the Laurentian University Challenge Course

August 28th – Grab some of your smartest friends and head to Tuesday Night Trivia at the Townehouse Tavern

August 29th – Put your putt-putt skills to the test at Dinosaur Valley Mini Golf— home to the World’s Largest Steel Skeletal Dragon

August 30th – Learn about the history and attractions of the Bell Park area and the Greater Sudbury Market at the Thursday Market Hike hosted by the Rainbow Routes Association

August 31st – Celebrate the last day of August on one of Sudbury’s best patios
