15 Events in Sudbury this month

October has arrived and as usual – there is SO MUCH happening in our favourite city. We’ve already update our fall bucket list but today we wanted to round up 15 events to check out in Sudbury this month.

TUESDAY, OCTOBER 1 – Oktoberfest @ Stack Brewing

Stack Brewing is kicking off Oktoberfest 2019 by launching a newfall/winter menu, their Oktoberfest beer, food specials, and their first ever wing night.


THURSDAY, OCTOBER 3 – Wine & Cheese Tasting Tour @ La Fromagerie

Join Heather Downey from Terroir Tastings for an informative and relaxing evening that will take you around the world as you discover the magic of wine and cheese pairings.


SATURDAY, OCTOBER 5 – SUNDAY, OCTOBER 6 – 5th Annual MS Fall Fair @ Freskiw Farms

There will be over 80 vendors on site as well as food, arts & crafts and live music. Pick up some delicious fresh apples from Freskiw Farms and don’t forget to bring the kids to have their face painted.


SATURDAY, OCTOBER 5 – Vodka & Vinyasa | Yoga & Cocktails for a Cause @ Crosscut Distillery

Crosscut is hosting its third Charitable Yoga & Cocktail Event. Emily Zanini will be guiding you through an hour long class followed by a refreshing signature Crosscut cocktail. A portion of proceeds will be donated to the Sudbury Food Bank for the holidays!


SATURDAY, OCTOBER 5 – Mixology 101: Martinis Through the Ages @ The Alibi Room

Explore the lore and legends surrounding the martini. How did this eponymous cocktail evolve through the ages from a vermouth heavy gin-fortified cocktail to James Bond’s Vesper to the fruit-laden “-tini” of the 90’s and back again?


SUNDAY, OCTOBER 6 – Dean Brody & Dallas Smith @ Sudbury Community Arena

Dean Brody & Dallas Smith will be in Sudbury for their Friends Tour 2019
with special guests Chad Brownlee Music + MacKenzie Porter & The Reklaws!


SUNDAY, OCTOBER 6 – Axe Cancer Sudbury @ Northern Axeperts

Bust out your flannels, embrace your true Canadian spirit, and compete in a Kick Axe axe-throwing tournament to send kids affected by childhood cancer in Sudbury to summer camp.


THURSDAY, OCTOBER 10 – Square Foot Show & Sale @ The Open Studio

The Makers North Square Foot Show is an exciting and diverse exhibition of artwork from both professional and emerging Northern Ontario artists. It will take place October 10th – November 19th 2019 at the Open Studio in beautiful Sudbury, Ontario. Opening reception and awards presentation October 10th from 7:00 – 8:30PM.


THURSDAY, OCTOBER 10 – Charged Talks 2019 @ Sudbury Theatre Centre

The Charged Talks feature talks from prominent industry leaders with unique and engaging perspectives on the intersection of technology and design, that will offer attendees insights to leverage collaboration between the two disciplines. This Charged Talk will feature talks from Andréa Crofts (DESIGNING FOR DIGITAL HEALTH) and Frank Bach (DESIGNING FOR JOY).


FRIDAY, OCTOBER 11 – POZitivity Drag Tour @ Sudbury Theatre Centre

Welcome to the POZitivity: Slay Stigma Canadian Drag Tour with TRINITY K BONET. The evening will be filled with information on the campaign, local performances by queens, a Q/A section with the lovely Randy Davis, and an amazing performance by the fabulous Trinity K. Bonet!


TUESDAY, OCTOBER 15 – Pints & Politics @ La Fromgerie

The 2019 Federal Election is fast approaching. Join the YPA Sudbury and sit down with local candidates to learn more about their parties policies & platforms.


FRIDAY, OCTOBER 18 – Library Things: Stranger Things 80’s Revival Party @ Greater Sudbury Public Library

Celebrate Stranger Things and all things 80’s! There will be some nostalgic video games, horror themed activities, board games,scavenger hunts, costume contest, tirvia and more. Drop in for a rad night. Don’t forget your 80’s get up! For ages 13 and up!


FRIDAY, OCTOBER 25 – Verdicchio Ristorante Enoteca 25th Anniversary

Celebrate the silver anniversary of Verdicchio Ristorante Enoteca and take a trip down memory lane as they honour their roots and pay tribute to the classic dishes, wines and music of yesterday.


SUNDAY, OCTOBER 27 – Vinyl Swap Meet in Space @ Spacecraft Brewery

Bring in one to two milk crates of records to swap or sell for FREE. Anyone who brings over two milk crates will need a table that Spacecraft Brewery will provide. Even if you don’t have vinyl to sell, you are welcome to go shop!


SUNDAY, OCTOBER 27 – 5th Annual Cancer Centre Walk/Run for Hope @ Kivi Park

The event will offer four different distances -1km, 3km, 5km and
10 km – with all routes running through scenic trails at Kivi Park. The adult registration fee includes a T-Shirt and lunch. Participants are encouraged to raise funds by collecting pledges.
