PRESENT SIMPLE SOLVES YOUR COMMON GIFTING DILEMMAS

The holidays are upon us and with it comes the pressure of picking out the perfect gift. Looking for a present that sends just the right message can be a major stress but this Sudbury entrepreneur wants to help make it fun again! Lisa Bray is the owner of Present Simple, where they specialize in making gift-giving that much easier. You can choose from a fantastic array of gift baskets ready for just about any occasion but, Lisa’s favourite part of the job is working with clients directly to find just the right items for your gift! From local products to unique handmade pieces and even sourcing special items, she does it all to make your vision come to life. To test Lisa’s skills we posed to her a few common gift-giving scenarios you may run into and got her advice:

I’m looking for a gift for my in-laws! My mother-in-law loves to host and you can always find her in the kitchen trying out new recipes. My father-in-law is the master of the grill and a real beer connoisseur.

Depending on your budget we can customize something very nice and package it up in one of the many boxes or baskets that I have in the studio.

Here are a few suggestions for your mother-in-law:

A cute set of bowls that spell EAT on a bamboo tray. (Can also say TEA! Lol) with a fun holiday tea towel. Shopping lists to help keep organized, one is for groceries the other to plan out the perfect charcuterie board. For the home chef some gourmet ingredients: Black or white truffle oil, Purple fig or Wild Lemon Balsamic Glaze & a jar of Himalayan Pink Finishing Salt with a Canadian-made “Bon Appetit” apron. For a one-of-a-kind gift a handmade solid wood charcuterie board (made by my brother actually)!

For your father-in-law:

I have these fun beer flight placemats to have your own beer tasting at home! I could also include a set of beer glasses or some fun beer socks. I would also suggest a variety of craft beers, perhaps something from Stack & ManitoulinBrewing Company. I have a variety of fun bottle openers such as tools, bicycles, cactus, gnomes & flamingos. And a beer sign “In Dog Beers, I’ve only had one.” to complete the home bar. Joyful Home German Pilsner soy candles are always a big hit. Maybe he would like some Desert Wine Salt to season his steaks and a pack of BBQ napkins is always a fun filler in the gift box.

My best friend and I haven’t been able to see each other in person in ages because of social distancing. She is a new homeowner and has a very busy work life. I’d like to get her something to help her relax and feel pampered!

I love self-care boxes! I would suggest one of my amazing Bathorium bath bombs – the matcha tea & peppermint is a restoring bath soak. A Joyful Home cucumber & melon soy candle (one of my faves!) for when she is relaxing in the bath. A Two Sisters Body Scrub and an exfoliating Body Sponge. She’ll feel like a million bucks after this!

If she has long hair, I’d throw in a scrunchie and finish it off with a Pluck Spa Day all natural loose herbal tea and a little bag of handmade chocolate butter crunch.

A little satchet and a sparkly succulent are great to finish off the gift box.

My office is doing a holiday gift exchange and I drew someone who is new to the area. Since they’re still getting to know Sudbury like I’d a gift that showcases some of the amazing local products and makers we have!

How cute would this little gift be? A cute beaver mug with a decadent salted caramel hot chocolate stick, paired with a Joyful Home Hot Chocolate soy candle and a jar of Maple Acres Chocolate chip cookie mix. What a delicious gift!
