Top 5 events to check out in Sudbury this weekend

Our favourite part of the week has arrived and now it’s time to make plans!

Godspell – Friday, January 25th @ College Boreal – 7:30pm

The Sudbury Performance Group presents Godspell the Legendary Rock Musical. Godspell was the first major musical theatre offering from three-time Grammy and Academy Award winner, Stephen Schwartz. A small group of people help Jesus Christ tell different parables by using a wide variety of games, storytelling techniques and hefty doses of comic timing.

White Cowbell Oklahoma – Friday, January 25th @ Townehouse Tavern (206 Elgin Street) – 9pm

Jokestack – A Night of Comedy starring Jason Allen & Marc Anthony Sinagoga – Saturday, January 26th @ The Trevi Bar & Grill – 8pm

Two of Canada’s fastest-rising comics are on their way to the Nickle City this weekend. Jason Allen is a stand-up comic from London, Ontario who has been featured in comedy festivals such as JFL 42, the Brantford Comedy Festival, the Border City Comedy Festival, and the Cottage Country Comedy Festival. Marc-Anthony Sinagoga is a young, stand-up comedian, born and raised in Richmond Hill, Ontario and was part of JFL 42, invited to the Dallas Comedy Festival 2017 & 18, a finalist in the Cleveland Comedy Festival as well as the Border City Comedy Festival, and the winner of the Brantford Comedy Festival. Tickets are $20 in advance or $25 at the door.

McEwen Nuit Blanche 2019 – Saturday, January 26th @ the McEwen School of Architecture – 7pm

For the third year in a row, students at the McEwen School of Architecture have come together to curate a Nuit Blanche! Join them for an evening of student, professor, and community made installations. There will also be performances by musicians, singers, artists, and dancers, along with a few free tasty treats and a cash bar. Come partake in a series of festivities to celebrate the up and coming arts community in Downtown Sudbury!

New Year Vision Board Workshop – Sunday, January 27th @ Two Souls Yoga – 3pm

Two Souls Yoga wants to help you find your vision and help you understand the importance of focus, identifying how to stay on track and develop that drive that will carry you into making your goals a reality. At this workshop, you will develop a vision board or dream board with a collage of images, pictures and affirmations of one’s dreams and desires, to serve as a source of inspiration and motivation during the year of 2019. Cost is $30.
