Opening Reception – Assemble: Five years of Contemporary drawing – Since its inception in 2011, Line Gallery, an independent gallery dedicated to the presentation and promotion of contemporary Canadian drawing, has produced twenty-five solo exhibitions of emerging and established artists working in drawing from across Canada. Based in North Bay, Ontario, Line Gallery is currently the only gallery in Canada with a mandate focused exclusively on drawing. Over the past five years Amanda Burk and Paul Irwin, co-owners of Line Gallery, have been actively developing a collection of Canadian drawing that reflects a broad range of contemporary drawing practices taking place nationally. Tree of Life – Open Painting Session – This session is focusing on the Tree of Life and what that means to us! Remember, trees can take on any shape and size and any colour for that matter. Sudbury Yogathon for Mental Health 2016 – The Sudbury Yogathon for Mental Health is a one-day community event in support of mental health awareness throughout Greater Sudbury. The Yogathon hopes to engage community members of all fitness levels. It will be an easy-going day of multi-leveled yoga styles. All proceeds from the event will be donated to NISA/Northern Initiative for Social Action, a peer-run mental health organization providing vital services and programs to people with lived experience of mental illness. There will be exhibitors on-site to provide local products such as health foods, coffee, mental health information, clothing, and natural health products. Support NISA, and your own mental health, by attending the 2016 Sudbury Yogathon for Mental Health! ALS – Adaptive Canuck Fundraiser – We are raising money in support of our dear friend Jeff Perreault who was struck with ALS a short time ago.
