What was the inspiration for starting the Basement Bootcamps?

We wanted to offer a training experience that would keep people motivated by training together in a fun and almost competitive atmosphere where they can challenge themselves while also being encouraged by the person training beside them.

Who are the bootcamps for?

The bootcamps are for anyone who is looking to get better. Whether someone’s looking to get stronger, tone up or just get comfortable working out in our facility, we can accommodate them. The people in our bootcamps range from 16 years old to over 60 so we really have something for everyone. They’re also great for people who have a tough time fitting exercise into their schedule because they’re early in the morning so you can come in and have a great workout and still have the rest of your day.

What are the benefits of the bootcamps?

One of the biggest benefits is the motivation that you get from group training. With the bootcamps, you can workout with your friends, family or co-workers and they can help you get through a tough workout. There are also lots of health benefits including building muscle, burning fat and increasing coordination so you get a lot of benefits in a relatively short amount of time.

What types of exercises do you do?

We’re trying to increase overall functional fitness so we do strength exercises that have multiple benefits like squats, deadlifts and bench presses. We also incorporate a range of equipment including dumbbells, barbells and kettlebells. For conditioning, we use rowing machines, heavy ropes, bikes and we have a turf area where you can push weighted sleds so there’s a lot of variety.

The nice thing about the bootcamps is that we can accommodate a range of fitness levels so we’ll have some people who squat just using their own bodyweight while other people can load up a barbell with weight so don’t be afraid to give it a try, we have something for everyone.

What makes the bootcamps unique?

I think the fact that there are three different trainers and we each bring different knowledge and experience to the class. Also, our clients are fantastic and they have a great attitude. You can still have a lot of fun at 5:30 or 6:30 in the morning and we definitely do that here.

What was the inspiration for starting the Bad and Evil Bootcamp?

We had lots of demand for this style of training, people wanted to work out in the morning and they wanted Oscar and I because we put together great training sessions, we operate intelligently, progressively and with enthusiasm. We care.

Who are the bootcamps for?

The Bad and Evil Bootcamps are for everyone at every fitness level. The nice thing about how the camps run are they are always challenging and modifiable to serve the individual personal goals even in the bigger picture as a group.

What are the benefits of the bootcamps?

For someone coming into our bootcamp, it’s the group. We have a solid group of people to train with. Everyone is super supportive and always putting in work and wanting to do better. Oscar and I have years of experience training groups of high-school and college athletes and other demographics ranging from new mothers to seniors. We know what gets results, and it starts with creating a community of people who are committed to working hard and doing it consistently. We have that in our group.

What types of exercises do you do?

We will use a variety of different exercises but it will focus on three fundamental principles: Movements, Balance, Progression.

We go over squatting, pressing, pulling, lunging and core work. We cover how people should move in their regular day to day lives and get them stronger in these patterns. We also have a priority to stretch and warm up correctly. The goal is to get better. More weight, more work, or less rest.

What makes the bootcamps unique?

The design of our bootcamp is well thought out, balanced and progressive. Also, the addition of the ScoreKeeper service and our Facebook group that we use as an open forum to voice any training, nutrition, motivation and accountability concerns. We pride ourselves on going above and beyond in our service to our clients and are constantly striving to make the experience better and have more value.
