Jocko Chartrand: Brightly shining

Sudbury visual artist Jocko Chartrand opened a new exhibit at the Art Galler of Sudbury titled Brightly shining. Back in 1976, Jocko opened his first solo show at Rothman’s Gallerey here in Sudbury and since 1973 he has been exhibiting his work since 1973 in Toronto and Sudbury. Jocko Chartrand studied fine arts here in Sudbury at Cambrian College with a focus in painting and engraving. His exhibition history includes shows with La Slague, la Galerie du Nouvel-Ontario, the Fringe Festival, and the Laurentian University Museum and Art Center (now the Art Gallery of Sudbury). Celebrate our planet this Saturday, June 8 at Memorial Park for the 14th annual Earth Festival. On the moon - The 50th anniversary of the moon landing

Celebrate the 50th anniversary of the 1969 moon landing on Saturday, June 25th with the Sudbury Studio Singers. They will be hosting a special variety concert at 7:30 p.m. at Andrew’s Place, 111 Larch Street. The chamber choir will perform a new set of four pieces – all titled to match the theme of the evening – composed by conductor, Robert Hall.
