Sending a message

If the message that they were trying to send is they can be an offensive threat…the Barrie Colts were the recipient of a pretty strong message. The Sudbury Wolves ran over the Colts in an 8-2 victory last night. It was all lines firing last night as goals came from Sokolov (2), Murray (2) and Drake Pilon, Tabak, Lajeunesse, and Carson each lighting the lamp once. It was exactly the message they needed to send, with injuries plaguing the Sudbury Wolves, a big win heading into a Northern Rivalry weekend at home, should help carry some momentum into the......

TOUGH LOSSES, TOUGHER DRESSING ROOM LOSS

Writing a weekend roundup when the hometown squad managed only one point in a three game weekend, requires a minimum 3 cups of coffee before sitting down, more to calm myself down than anything. We knew coming into this season, things were not going to instantly click. There were so many moving parts that changed in the off season, so to expect immediate drastic changes was unrealistic. However, 22 games into this season, I’m not seeing the things that were talked about pre, this season commencing, and it’s starting to show in the faces of these young players. No......

Bitten by the Injury Bug: Wolves Weekend Preview

It has been an injury plagued season to date for the Sudbury Wolves, but this weekend they should get an offensive boost, with the return of Macauley Carson. Carson went down hard into the end boards during his first game of the regular season, which resulted in a broken wrist. He has had to sit in the stands and watch his club for 18 games, and he’s had just about enough of that. Carson is also slated to play in Monday’s OHL vs Russia game taking place at the Sudbury Arena. Although he would have liked to have a......

Top 5 Instagram hot spots in Sudbury

I’ll be the first to admit that I’m guilty of searching out spots in every city I visit that would make great Instagram posts. The point of Instagram is to be inspired (in my opinion anyway) and it’s fun to look through Instagram locations and see where people have taken some of their best photos. The other day I was in Toronto with some free to so I spent a lot of hours searching Instagram for places I should go on my next adventure. This gave me the idea to share some of Sudbury’s own Instagram hot spots with......

Book Talk is a new monthly discussion on books with local Sudburians brought to you by Greater Sudbury Public Library.
